Thank you to everyone that showed up and especially for those that brought sides. We had some great food from Publix, met some 8th graders from our feeder schools, played games, warmed up, and watched our students kick-off the first home game with the National Anthem. You can find out more and see some great pics from the event by going to the blog post on our website. Homecoming ParadeLast year, Pope High School brought back the traditional Homecoming Parade. Our chorus students decorated a truck and had a great time singing and traveling down Hembree Rd together. We're looking forward to celebrating again. Students will join us Sept. 18 at 4pm to decorate the truck and get in place. The parade starts at 5:30pm. The community is invited to join and there will be food trucks at the end of the parade at Pope High School. Fall ConcertOur first concert of the year is coming up on October 8 at 7pm. A Few Extra Notes
If someone in your students family is not getting the newsletter, please let us know at [email protected].
This past Friday was our first football home game and that meant two things:
These are not only great opportunities for our Pope Chorus students but they serve as an excellent way to show our eighth grade feeder schools how much fun Chorus is at Pope. The students did an amazing job with the National Anthem and our wonderful Booster Board, thanks to your contributions, provided our students with some great barbecue, chicken nuggets and tasty sides. The kids had a great time socializing before the game and playing a rousing game of rock, paper scissors. We even had several of our students further participate in game day with the band, color guard and the football team. Though the final score wasn't in the Greyhounds favor, the kids had a great time performing and socializing. It was a great kick-off to the home football season and to a great year in Pope Chorus! Check out some of the pictures from the tailgate below! Interested in finding out more about Pope Chorus? Click here! |
